I was raised in Allentown, Pennsylvania where I attended Parkland High School and graduated in 2004.  I was a member of the Parkland Marching Band Colorguard (flag, rifle line).  I also competed with the Indoor Winter Guard in High school.  I was a member of the Sign Language club as well as Art club, and Chorus.  Looking back I can never believe how badly I wanted to leave high school but now how quickly it's gone.

I obtained my Bachelors of Science in Education (English) with a minor in Literature in 2008 from California University of PA.  Graduating cum laude I was also captain of the University Marching Band Colorguard, Director of the University Winter Guard, President of Sigma Tau Delta (International English Honor Society), a Peer Mentor, and a Writing Consultant at the University Writing Center. 

While teaching I am also currently completing my Masters in Reading at Edinboro University through a distance learning program. 

I enjoy spending time with my Border Collie mix, Molly.  I love taking hikes and sitting on the beach.  In my free time I read young adult novels as well as classics.  I am currently working on my own young adult novel.
